Michal Levine (5th-6th grades and graduation class) has worked in both formal and informal Jewish education with people of all denominations and backgrounds for over 18 years, and has been a teacher at MJW going on 13 (!) years. Michal attended Boston University and Bank Street College of Education, from which she received her Master’s in Museum Education. She worked at the Jewish Museum in New York, partnering with Jewish schools. Michal is active in her local branch of Amit, an organization that supports schools in Israel, and is involved (as a baker/fundraiser) in Sharsheret’s Pies for Prevention Thanksgiving Bake Sale (Sharsheret is an organization that supports Jewish women and their families with breast and ovarian cancer).  Currently she works as the Temple Administrator at Temple Sinai in Summit, NJ.

I’m Alexandra Herman (K-2nd and 3rd-4th grades)! I’m very excited for another incredible year at MJW. Last year was lots of fun; can’t wait to see what this year holds.  I hold a degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing, as well as a degree in Jewish Studies from Yeshiva University in Manhattan. I studied Jewish Philosophy in Israel during a gap year following high school. I reside in West Orange, New Jersey, with my husband Levi. On weekends I run a high-school youth chapter for the NCSY youth movement, and on weekdays I work as a head property manager for a real estate company. I grew up in East Windsor, New Jersey (Central Jersey if I may)! I would love to host families for Shabbat meals, please reach out to me and invite yourself!
